To begin to develop an effective model of inclusion it is essential to incorporate all of the following criteria to achieve an effective understanding of the individual needs of any child being included into a mainstream classroom.
AWARENESS - of the disability.
FLEXIBILITY - within the school environment.
REALISTIC - expectations from the student.
LEARN - from parents.
TRAINING - of staff.
CO-ORDINATOR - to co-ordinate the inclusion and oversee the educational programme.
